Shochugeiko-Day1:Shihonage

Kihon Dosa

Ryote Mochi Shihonage-1
Katate Mochi Shihonage-2
Hanmi Handachi Ryote Mochi Shihonage
Shomen Uchi Shihonage(Kagari geiko)

BIG Class of the year! 2 teachers, 12 students including 4 kids. Mike Sensei somehow tricked to get a turn to teach Shihonage for the first time in the last so many years.

Very humid and hot…my dogi got soaked! Although, I admit that it’s a part of the package and a big part of fun. The amount of sweat makes it feel like representing how much you have done, of course..thats not everything but it certainly is a part of it.

My knee is almost good, I should not yet forget that I have injury but shuold be okay to do the techniques except for the left side with some people (umm…or just teachers). I also am finding out how to work around the injury. I have to more conscious still there is a way to land with the good side of the knee if I have time.

Falling backwards is scary…I still hit my head with certain people (who I don’t have to name!)

Training with lots of different people is interesting. Everyone’s different, everyone’s reaction is different, You make it happen with the person you are working with, even its very precisely formed, you have to feel whats going on, and how much you can / you can not push…etc…

Above all…it was great to be back to training “almost” fully today.
